Valuing – Finding – Integrating
Why are you here?
You feel your business’s golden era may well be past and you’re looking for someone who can help your idea thrive again. The whole thing has turned into a tightrope act and you feel unable to move forward without help. Or perhaps there has simply been a shift in your markets and priorities.
“Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear.” – Anthony Robbins
Why are we here?
We’ve carried out thousands of talks with entrepreneurs and virtually none of them was able to provide third parties with an accurate assessment of their company’s value, either from a content or economic standpoint – in either direction.
Developing the right idea for starting a new business is both complex and time-consuming – yet selling the same business further down the line can prove just as difficult. Because it’s all about what the business is worth.
Of all our areas of expertise, the ability to sell a company requires the greatest amount of tact and intuition. Too many personal interests and emotions tend to be tossed into the mix of factual arguments. Remember, no brain surgeon in the world would ever expect to successfully operate on himself. So don’t try to go at it alone.
Along with the purchasing price, some factors to consider include:
- New management
- Customer interests
- Patents and licenses
- Choosing and contacting a buyer
- Market conditions
- Potential deal-breakers
- Time schedule
- Post-sale process
“When you talk, you are only repeating what you know; but when you listen, you learn something new.” – Dalai Lama
